30 June – 7 August 2026
One of the biggest initiatives undertaken by Tratic Foundation International between 30 June and 7 August 2026 was our involvement in supporting communities during the March to March anti-immigration protests in the Western Cape.
Tratic Foundation International worked closely with local authorities, including SAPS, community members and consular representatives, to help reduce tensions, prevent violence and promote the safety of everyone affected by the protests.
As part of this effort, Tratic Foundation International supported undocumented foreign nationals who voluntarily chose to return to their home countries. Working alongside consulate delegates from various countries, we assisted those who wished to be repatriated safely and voluntarily.
We worked particularly closely with the Consulate of Zimbabwe in Cape Town, helping facilitate access to free government buses in the Western Cape for Zimbabwean nationals who had chosen to return home.
Local authorities and SAPS played an important role throughout the process, helping to ensure that people remained safe both during the protests and throughout the repatriation process.
Buses were loaded in Bredasdorp, Riversdale, Mossel Bay, George, Knysna, Plettenberg Bay and Jeffreys Bay, with significant numbers of Zimbabwean nationals choosing to return home.
This was a major community effort built around cooperation, safety, dignity and voluntary repatriation, demonstrating the important role that Tratic Foundation International can play in bringing communities, authorities and consular representatives together during challenging times.
